We drove out to Oshawa (3.5 hr drive) to visit my cousins Leslie & Chad and my Uncle Kerry & Aunt Barb.
We arrived at Leslie's Mom's place and she was right at the door to greet us. It was so exciting to see her as we hadn't seen eachother since 1992.
The three of us took off for awhile to go out to visit our grandparents gravesite which was hard. I'd never been there before and our grandparents were such wonderful people.
After going there we went to the Bowmanville arena where we went through the museum in search of our grandfathers picture as he was an NHL player and his picture was somewhere within the museum. We found him under "Local Hero's" and that was pretty neat.
So then we went back to her Mom's place where we hung out with Sharon and her stepdad, Ron and had some snacks. Her Mom is a really good cook and made this oh so yummy dip so ya I liked that a lot ;)
After awhile Chad came over which was awesome. We had dinner soon after and again it was so delicious. Her Mom really spoiled us with the good meals and the yummy dessert. We were stuffed after that and just relaxed and Chad went home and we went to bed.
The next day we headed over to my Uncle Kerry's place for a barbeque and we had a good time there visiting and again the meal was really good. My uncle is a pretty cool guy. We took lots of pictures of the "Dickens crew" which I will post in a bit.
We spent the night with my uncle and in the morning we got to hang out with him some more which was great. Then my cousin Chad came over and we said goodbye to my uncle and the three of us headed out for breakfast. It was good to spend time with Chad. He and I had two fun summers together when we were young and he has grown into a really great man.
Once breakfast was over we said our goodbyes and headed back to Ottawa.
