Yesterday I spent a delightful day in Red Deer & Rimbey.
First off I met up with sweet Ethel and her husband Jim and we had a coffee and a nice visit.
After that my friend "C" arrived with her kids and we went shopping and had lunch and then more shopping and then ended the day with coffee and a snack at Tim Horton's before. It was nice to see her and the kids again.
After that I drove out to Rimbey which is 45 minutes outside of Red Deer. There I saw my dear cousin Larry, and it was a bonus because Eric and Violet were there whom I haven't seen in four years!
We had a nice visit and had a yummy dinner which Larry had made. For dessert we had a DELICIOUS apple pie. Oh it was G O O D!!!! Thanks Larry ;)
We went over to Andreas work for a quick visit and then headed back to their place and hung out till Jason came by and soon after that I decided to head home.
It was a pretty nice day.

Well..
in about an hour I am heading to Red Deer for the day. Going to meet up with a friend from Edmonton (that's the halfway point) and we'll have fun shopping and hanging out.
Sorry - nothing else exciting has happened lately.
My friend, Liz, in Kamloops is I think three days overdue now and anxiously awaiting arrival of baby # 2. Please keep her in and baby in prayer!!!

Well, as you saw through the pictures, our trip out East went very well. We got to spend bonus time with Maggie and Clara and also extra time with our niece Larissa and Jerry & Pierrette. It was so nice to be home for awhile but let me tell you - it was busy! Seemed like all we did was drive here and there and everywhere. Next time we go out east we will try to remember to take some time to relax too!!!! LOL.
Since we've been home we have been busy. We've gone out and shopped around to get good deals on little things we needed around the house but have put off for so long. We even finally purchased a chandalier for the high ceiling at the front door. Plus Mark has been in the planning stages of the walkway. Hopefully today or tomorrow he will go and order the wood he needs and then hopefully it will be delievered for the long weekend so he can get started. He wants to get it done before the snow flies. And around here - you just never know when that will be!!
Our neighbour is in the process of building a garage so it's been a lil noisy on the weekends ... hopefully he can get er done this weekend.
Oh yes and the other thing that we've worked on is getting all the tools (and there were A LOT) out of the house and back into the garage where they belong now that work on the inside is done. That opened up a whole lot of cleaning in the two bedrooms upstairs where the tools were. Things are almost back in order.
Anyway, I should get off here and move onto my next project - making dinner!! LOL
Byeeeee

Visit with my cousins and uncle

We drove out to Oshawa (3.5 hr drive) to visit my cousins Leslie & Chad and my Uncle Kerry & Aunt Barb.
We arrived at Leslie's Mom's place and she was right at the door to greet us. It was so exciting to see her as we hadn't seen eachother since 1992.
The three of us took off for awhile to go out to visit our grandparents gravesite which was hard. I'd never been there before and our grandparents were such wonderful people.
After going there we went to the Bowmanville arena where we went through the museum in search of our grandfathers picture as he was an NHL player and his picture was somewhere within the museum. We found him under "Local Hero's" and that was pretty neat.
So then we went back to her Mom's place where we hung out with Sharon and her stepdad, Ron and had some snacks. Her Mom is a really good cook and made this oh so yummy dip so ya I liked that a lot ;)
After awhile Chad came over which was awesome. We had dinner soon after and again it was so delicious. Her Mom really spoiled us with the good meals and the yummy dessert. We were stuffed after that and just relaxed and Chad went home and we went to bed.
The next day we headed over to my Uncle Kerry's place for a barbeque and we had a good time there visiting and again the meal was really good. My uncle is a pretty cool guy. We took lots of pictures of the "Dickens crew" which I will post in a bit.
We spent the night with my uncle and in the morning we got to hang out with him some more which was great. Then my cousin Chad came over and we said goodbye to my uncle and the three of us headed out for breakfast. It was good to spend time with Chad. He and I had two fun summers together when we were young and he has grown into a really great man.
Once breakfast was over we said our goodbyes and headed back to Ottawa.
