Some of you probably already know this but Anne of Green Gables is my favourite movie. I just finished watching it again. I faithfully watch it twice a year...spring & fall. I LOVE IT!
Last night I was on a website about the movie and would you know it - there is a 20th Anniversary Collectors edition of Anne coming out on Nov 15 and I PRE-ORDERED it!!
This 5-DVD set includes:
- All 3 Anne of Green Gables films
- One-Hour of New Documentaries: L.M. Montgomery's Island and Kevin Sullivan’s Classic featuring new cast and crew interviews
- Missing Scenes
- Lost Footage
- The missing Green Gables episode "Marilla Cuthbert’s Death"
That will be nice to have *grin* Oh how I LOVE Anne :-)
I love the gorgeous scenery and would love to live in a place with beautiful fields, trees, and water. I love the lives that they lead and how close everyone is - how open, honest, caring and hardworking they all are. They build strong life-long friendships and their love and devotion is amazing.
That is what gets me the most and what I am missing the most in my own life. Nowadays it's difficult to keep up with family and friends when we seem to be forever pressured into doing more things and the busy ness causes rifts between people. That and we all live so darn far away from eachother!
I would love to live in a setting very similar to the one of Green Gables Who knows - someday maybe we will. After all, neither of us want to stay in the city for much longer. There are good things about being in a city but for the most part a city is just a big, busy, uncaring place with endless houses and concrete and people. There isn't a moments peace.
Anytime I need to be reminded of how beautiful life can be I just pop in the movie!
I just re-read this and you may get the wrong impression - life here isn't bad. You get used to the city after awhile. And besides, home is where the heart is and my heart is always and forever with Mark.

Great post, Carrie. And just hink, I get to be there this summer!!!
I say: come live on Martha's Vineyard. Not only is it gorgeous here, there is a REAL sense of community. After all, it literally is a SMALL place, surrounded by water and you have to make the best of it together.
I came from a big city when I moved here and I truly never experienced anything like the sense of love and togetherness, like I have in the last few years.
I have never seen the movie, but will try to rent it this weekend! You inspired me...
Love, Jess

Hi Carrie,
Toni loves Anne!!! We went this summer for a few days and she says that it is her favorite place. She has a hard time believing that Anne is a fictional person. We read the books for bedtime stories one winter and she fell in love with her. Sometimes we ask Toni if she had to move where would she like to go , she always says P.E.I.
well care we are in the same video category, i love anne of green gables. And all the mischeif she gets into. i watch it every year with my sister tally. she has all her movies. i will let her know that they are coming out with a 20th anniversary.
love ya carrie!
