A few posts ago I mentioned that it was a hastle to move my father and all his belongings to our friends house so that my Mom and my Aunt could come and visit.
I did not mean that it was a hastle to have them come and visit - I meant it was a hastle to move my father's things.
I apologize for hurting you both with my thoughtless comment. I love you and was very glad that you came to visit!! Sorry!!

SPIDERS
There was a spider - an orangy one just outside our door here which seriously freaked me out. Now it's gone, dead, never to be seen again.
I went to let Shifter out this evening and what is hanging right above the door at Cliffs place - the biggest, most disgusting orangy spider I have ever seen. I freaked out. I went around to the front of the house passing a few more spiders...whimpering quietly (I didn't want to alarm the neighbours) and let myself in and phoned Mark to come get me. By the time he got there to rescue me I was crying and shaking and whimpering and he had a heck of a time calming me down.
Spiders are the most horribly disgusting creepy crawley things that I can think of. We are going to have to spray around this house and get rid of them pronto!!
So - there you go - you now know that I am freakishly terrified of spiders and well laugh if you want - it's a real fear for me and as my "other Mother" can tell you...this is no joke! I have broke more than a few of her brooms back in the day trying to kill the nasty spiders at her place!!

An EXHAUSTING Weekend!
Whew! We have been so busy this weekend. I've been busy cleaning the house - and not just the usual clean but doing the cleaning that doesn't get done on a regular basis - washing walls, completely cleaned the spare room and reorganized the kitchen cupboards. Oh and I did 4 loads of laundry.
Mark finally was able to get the wallpaper off the wall in the baby's room and then sanded it down and plastered it and sanded it again.
Between all of this we did the grocery shopping, a Zellers run and a Rona run. We also took the dogs for a walk and went back and forth between here and Cliff & Lori's because we are looking after their dog, Shifter, while they are in BC.
Hopefully we'll sleep well tonight.
Tomorrow after work we plan to wash the walls down in the baby's room and then Mark will prime them. Not a moments rest lately.
I got a call from my Mom today saying that her and her bf are coming for a visit in a few weeks. They will be staying at my sisters place though because as you know my father is living with us...and neither of them wants to see the other.
I'm just glad that for once my sister is able to take on that responsibility. Last October when my Mom & Aunt came it was such a hastle to move my Dad and all his stuff (computer & personal belongings) to our friend Rons place for the weekend.
Anyway, I am tired...gonna go get ready for bed and curl up on the couch with my honey. Byeee.

Update:
Went for a doctor's appointment tonight and things are okay. Have gained16 pounds so far. Doc says that's okay but I am not so sure about that. Seems like a lot of weight considering that a typical weight gain is only 30-35 ish and I still have a long way to go. And I am so starving all the time now. Today at work I snacked constantly! Granted, I try to snack mostly on fruit/vegies but that isn't really filling and man do I get hungry! LOL. Also added to my snacking are crackers and cookies.
So, baby's heartbeat is at 141 today. It was really hard for the doc to find some reason. She moved the wand all over - it took probably a good minute and a half before she found a spot strong enough to get a decent reading. She would find it and then it would fade away so she would find a different spot and same thing but ya she found it eventually. We will see what's going on this coming Tuesday (22) when we go for the ultrasound.
K- that's all I have time for now. Hope you are all doing well!!!!!!!!

Last night we called a repair man and finally after THREE MONTHS we have our washing maching is working order!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The dude said that appliances today don't usually last more than 7-10 years and our machine is already 8 years old so if it starts acting up again we shouldn't even bother to fix it and just get a new one.
I am just so very happy and thankful that it is working and we don't have to cart our clothes to Cliffs, Ron's or the laundromat anymore.
Thank you honey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today we decided that we should temporarily move everything out of the computer room in order to paint as it will be baby's room.
Well - we moved the computer out and into the spare room. The computer is currently on our old kitchen table and the computer desk is still in the room because it will take time to take it apart and move it.
That is basically all we have accomplished so far today other than doing a load of laundry.
Mark just left to pick up a few things from Costco and I am about to head into the kitchen to tidy up as we are having a friend over for dinner tonight.
Byeee for now!

Stressful Day!
First thing this morning as I was merrily driving to work listening to my tunes..I come around the corner and there is a "Road Closed" sign...so I go the long way around to find parking (only street parking available here) and there are no parking signs all over the place! I drove around for a few minutes but was five minutes late by this time so I just park in a two hour parking spot and hustle my butt into the office.
The girl who is training me was back today from her extra long weekend. She talks incredibly fast and jumps all over the place - she will slow down when asked tho so that's nice. Anyway, so we were going through a bunch of filing and other odd jobs and she showed me a tonne of binders/computer files/booklets etc. That in itself was information overload. Then, she gave me a few things to work on while she caught up on her e-mail and phone messages.
Then - she tells me that something is really wrong with her computer and she can't print or even check her e-mail or get into her files...So, for the next hour and a half she is on the phone with the IT guys at IBM trying to get that figured out. Meanwhile, I've long since finished my tasks and spent my time trying to get familiar with the place and chatting with a coworker.
Another problem was that the computer I am supposed to be working on doesn't have the account set up for me yet which means no e-mail, no access to much needed files, etc. PLUS the program I was working on for data entry (when i was downstairs temping at reception) isn't loaded on that computer! The data entry is one of the big projects I will be working on for the next few weeks to get caught up on and it was frustrating that I couldn't work on it.
By now it's lunch time and I had already gone out once to check and make sure there wasn't a ticket on my car and to move it to the other side of the street. I went out again at lunch and came back in and the four of us sat in the conference room for lunch.
Before we knew it it was time to get back at it. Her computer was fixed, mine had the program loaded onto it for the data entry BUT the guy didn't set it up which meant another half hour on the damn phone with him. But it got done and I got to work - FINALLY at 2pm!! At 3:30 pm I went to do some photocopying well what a pain in the ass that was! The machine kept jamming up and you'd do what it told you to do then suddenly there was another area it wanted you to pull paper out of and another and another after that. SHEESH. So I had to get a coworker to help me with the first jam cuz seriously there are a zillion places for the paper to jam up and I was really frustrated.
So anyway, she fixed it, left and I proceeded to photocopy only to have about 5 copies done before it jammed again. I fixed it, it jammed again and again and then I got to get the rest done. By this time it was 4:10 and time to run upstairs dump it off and leave for the day.
I get home and Mark and I had an errand to run. Got home after that and I was stressed right out and went on the couch to watch Little House on the Prairie and explained to Mark that he had to leave me alone for awhile because I was at my breaking point.
Well - a few minutes later he asked me something and I lost it. I was crying like a frigin baby and went into the bedroom and told him to tell my Dad that I had a headache and was resting and didn't want dinner. I felt bad cuz he didn't do anything wrong and I know he felt awful.
So yep - that was my day. I am going to bed very soon and will pray that tomorrow is a better day !! :-)

17 weeks

Here are a few pictures we took today. Things are going pretty well as far as the pregnancy goes. We go in on the 22nd of this month for the ultrasound. We are going to find out if it's a boy or a girl. We won't post that info. on this site though because we have noticed that not everyone wants to know! So if you want to know just ask!
Hope that everyone is doing well.

Why is it that I find it so difficult to be on time for things. I have spent my whole life chasing buses and walking in JUST in time or a minute or two or more late for things, including work. Seems that no matter how hard I try I just can't seem to make it on time. I try tricking myself and saying I need to be at an appointment earlier than I really need to and that doesn't work. I try changing the clocks back and that doesn't work. I try getting things ready the night before and that doesn't work because I then think that I have all this extra time to do stuff and really I don't.
Mark hates this because he hates being late and prefers being five minutes EARLY for things. I tried his way yesterday morning as I had an appointment - well...we arrived early (a miracle) and then.........had to wait 10 MINUTES past the appointment time. Well I was really, really, really, really, really annoyed and angry and I stomped up to the door that I was supposed to be going in - and there were the damn people drinking coffee and joking around! Well - the look on my face was apparently enough and they apolgized over and over again and took me in. I hate WAITING for things...waiting for work to start, waiting for buses to come, waiting for appointments to start, etc., and THAT is why I am never on time for things.
The conclusion: I prefer to rush around frantically and arrive just in time or even a few minutes late for any appointments and/or commitments that I may have. To me - it is better than waiting. Terrible habit that I cannot seem to break - any suggestions ????????????
