We're home!

We arrived home late on Wednesday, August 15th after a long but good flight home.

When we walked in the door Rocco was in the room at the bottom of the stairs and he started barking and then just stared at us from the bottom step. We kept saying his name and he got this shocked look on his face and then walked towards us and as he got closer you could see the recognition on his face and then pure joy and he was all over us with kisses and cuddles and excitement. We felt so bad because it was as if he thought we'd left him forever. We both swore we would never leave him like that again.

So we went to bed with a very happy puppy laying between us and smothering us with kisses :-) *Sigh* what a way to fall asleep.

The following day we ran some errands, tidied up a bit around the house and just relaxed. On Friday we got up fairly early and packed up and headed to Bragg Creek for the day. We had a hot dog roast and just relaxed. It was the perfect day..not too hot or too cold. And of course, Rocco was with us.

The rest of the weekend was just spent relaxing and doing chores around the house. Nothing too exciting.

VERY Brief Update

We arrived in Ottawa on July 26th and stayed with Maggie and family for two days and then they headed to New brunswick and we headed to Oshawa where we spent two days with my cousins Leslie & Chad and my Uncle Kerry and Aunt Barb.
Then we headed back to Ottawa where we've been visiting with Clara and family.
Tomorrow morning (3rd) we're heading out bright and early for a 12 hour drive to Bathurst New brunswick.

So that is the quick update. I will post stories and PICTURES once we return to Calgary on the 15th of August.

Hope everyone is having a good summer.

What I Miss....

I miss "my lake" so much. What a beautiful place to grow up...lake in the backyard with plenty of room to roam. I was lucky.

I miss it all the time. It provided something beautiful and serene to look at and it provided entertainment both in summer and winter.

Oooh how I loved to lay on the beach and suntan and swim and swim and swim some more! I was like a fish...LOL. It was so relaxing.

In the winter it was perfect for winter fun like skating.

I can't figure out why exactly I moved away from such a beautiful province to come here. I am not a city person and obviously never will be.

I have tried to be satisfied living here in the city but it just isn't working. I need to be near water. I don't even care if it's BC water or NB water. I just need to be in a prettier place where there is room to BREATHE! Being in a city is like being trapped in a cage.

Anyways, I don't mean to sound so negative... LOL.... we are going to move but we just have to wait one more year now. I can handle that, I think!

So now I leave you with a few pictures of Lucky on the beach and one of myself back in the day. Isn't it beautiful there?!

Our Sunday

So today we started out by making some pancakes and a smoothie for breakfast and then Mark went out for awhile to do guy stuff and I tidied up around the house.
THEN I decided I wanted to make a pie.

So I called my Mom - no answer.

I called my 'other Mom - she was not feeling well and was sleeping so couldn't talk but my 'other Dad' looked up the recipe and gave it to me. What a good Dad he is :-)

I made an apricot pie and it was pretty good! Lil more sugar next time but ya it was good! I love pies. The pastry recipe from my 'other Mom' is sooo good too.

Hmmm there was rain and thunder and lightening tonight. It was awesome. I love listening to the rain!

Oooh - we left the front door open to cool off the house...Rocco I thought was with Mark and he thought Rocco was with me....well soon there was a dude yelling "hello, hello" and I came upstairs and he had little Rocco in his arms...he had run across the street. OOPS! I think we better put the screen back up on that door before we lose the lil guy! Sorry Rocco :-(

Anyways, Mark and I just watched a show on Egypt which was pretty cool. Now it's bedtime - goodnight!

It's HOT!

Whew - today was super hot and tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter!
We went out this morning to the Crossroads Market to get our weekly supply of fruit & vegies and we also picked up the new computer.

We then spent the rest of the day downstairs here in our computer room where we have an exercise machine, single mattress layed out, a lazy boy chair, a papasan chair, a tv and of course the computer. So, we had plenty to keep us busy and comfy and we kept cool!

What a lazy day. Too bad we aren't in BC or NB where there are nice lakes/ocean and beaches to spend a hot day like this at. Oh well...if all goes well then next year we will have that.

GUESS WHAT...

My future step-father was able to get Mark and I tickets with Air Canada for a really good price...like $300 less than the current purchase price and slightly cheaper than the price of that seat sale we previously missed!!!!!!!!! YAY!! So, we fly out of Moncton on Wednesday, August 15th.

THANK YOU JOE!!!!

Thanks Guys!

Glad to see that people still read this blog even though I have been sooooo horrible at updating it the last few months.
Sometimes there isn't enough time and sometimes there just isn't anything to write!

So you know about all the work we have done around the house. I will post pictures of that once we get the 'new' computer back from being repaired and I can upload them onto the computer. I am tired of waiting and waiting and waiting for this ancient machine to do stuff so will do it all with the new computer when it arrives - again.

I have been searching on WestJet every single day for over a month now waiting for a seat sale to come up. We bought our tickets to Ottawa already on a seat sale which was great. Now we need the same luck for our return flight which will be from Moncton, New Brunswick to here, Calgary. I will be honest...there was a seat sale on the day we wanted to return but we stupidly didn't buy it the second it was there because we got busy and later that day we went to purchase it and the sale was OVER! OMG we were so disappointed and mad at ourselves for being procrastinators.

Flights are expensive. It will cost over almost $500 to fly from Moncton to here. Who has that kind of money...I sure don't! So, please PRAY that we get a lucky break again.

We are so excited about our upcoming trip. We leave on July 26 and return on August 13 ish...

We haven't been back East since our wedding in 2005 and we are so very excited to see the family again. We decided that since we didn't get to spend as much time with our two sisters in Ottawa last time that we would fly there first to get some extra time with them so that is awesome!

PLUS I have a cousin who lives in Toronto, her name is Leslie, and we haven't seen eachother since 1992 or so and we decided to make a trip to see her. Well we're kinda meeting between Toronto and Ottawa as it's a loong drive.

We're going to stay in Prince Edward County for a night with her and her boyfriend Dave. So on July 28th I will finally see her agin and I am super excited about that.

After that, we go back to Ottawa and hang out with the family and then we pile into the mini van and drive allll the way to New Brunswick and from there alllll the way to Nova Scotia for the wedding of Mark's dear cousin, Todd and his lovely bride to be, Jen. It is all so exciting. And I finally get to meet Mark's Aunt Linda and Uncle Ronald. Linda and I have been e-mailing and msn'ing a lot since we lost our son, Caleb, and she has been so amazing and I am excited to meet her! YAY!

This is going to be an awesome trip and we can't wait!!!!! Love you all so much!!!

I suppose I have procrastinated long enough and I should get some chores done around the house.

Byeee for now!

Just the two of us

Today Mark and I spent the day in Bragg Creek - just the TWO OF US! No dogs...just us. It was awesome. We don't get to spend good quality time like that together much and I am soooo glad that we did. I am so blessed to have a such a wonderful husband. Thank you God!
