Whew!

What a day! Spent the morning in the doctors' office with my Dad...spent the afternoon/evening in the emergency room with my Dad and Mark. Dad's heartbeat has been extremely high for the last few months and that is why he has been so incredibly tired etc. The doctors wouldn't let him leave the hospital until they got his heart rate into a somewhat 'normal' range for him. For awhile there they wanted to keep him overnight but he hates hospitals and wouldn't even consider it.

So, he is now on some medication to slow his heart rate down and it is working and he is thankfully already feeling better. He also has a holter monitor right now which he will be wearing for the next 48 hours and next year he will need to have a new pacemaker put in. WHEW!

Now the next month will be filled with appointments with the cardiologists, pacemaker clinics and just regular doctors appointments. But that's okay - as long as my Daddy feels better that's all that matters. I will probably not work in January and I guess it's a good thing since now he will need me to take him to the appointments. Please keep him in prayer over the next month as he deals with all these appointments etc. Thank you!

Well today was a very busy day for us after a night of pretty much no sleep. We got up and painted the bedroom, made turkey soup, took the dogs for a walk, put another coat of paint on and made dinner and then our friend Ron came over and we had dinner and we watched a movie and well now it's bedtime again. Another night of us sleeping in the living room because our bedroom stinks too much to sleep in. Hopefully this is the last night.

Boxing Day

Today we put the a coat of primer in our bedroom ... bye bye funny green colour!

We also made the turkey today.
My sister and her boyfriend, Jamie, graced us with their presence for dinner tonight. It was good to see them again.
Also, of course, Ron was here for dinner.
A few glasses of wine make any occasion better. Perhaps it should be a daily thing and things won't seem so difficult and sad all the time.

Here are a few pics for you to enjoy.

Christmas

We had our Christmas yesterday with our friends Ron & Ed who are like our family out here. We started the day by attending a Christmas eve service at our church. The service was really great as it always is. The Pastor there is really wonderful!
After that we went our separate ways to finish a few errands. Once we were back at the house we just kinda hung out for a bit and played with the dogs and chatted and stuff and then we set up the camera and took some 'family photos' and then we exchanged gifts and made dinner. We had a ham dinner. Just before dinner time Cliff and Lori stopped by and so they had dinner with us too and hung out for a few hours after. It was nice to have them over.
After they left we watched a movie and then it was time for the boys to head home.
Today we didn't do anything. Just hung out.

Got a phone call from my friend, Susan. She is such a sweetheart.
We also talked to Ron for a bit today and then Mark called down home and chatted with our nephews James & Jacob, his cousin Todd, Mom and Dad and his two brothers Jerry & Jimmy as well as our sis-in-law Lillian.
Later on in the evening my Mom and Ant called and we had a pretty good chat. The Ant was into the wine and she sounded like she was having a pretty good time. :-)
So, now I'll just post a few pictures for you cuz I don't really have anything else to say except....Merry Christmas everyone!

We got our friend Ed a kitten for Christmas since he had to put his cat down a few months ago.
We got the kitten from our friends Rose, Vince & Kim. What an adorable kitten.
We had the kitten here for a night but it was crying loudly because we had to keep it in a box so that Rocco wouldn't bother it so we had to give it to Ed a few days early. He didn't mind tho!
The little one is 9 weeks old and is such a cuddly sweet guy!

Hi

The surgery went okay. I was in the hospital from 6:00 a.m. until 8p.m. that night. Only three marks on my stomach and one bigger cut in my belly button where they insterted the camera and pulled the gallbladder out. ICK. LOL

For the first 2.5 days I was on Percocet every 5 hrs which was pretty nice...wasn't feeling too much pain and it made me sleepy which was good.

Today has been better... I am able to get in and out of bed almost on my own and I even took a shower today all by myself! Progress is being made!

Over the weekend our friend Ron came by and we watched a movie "The Devil Wears Prada". It was okay. Anyway, he spent the night and the next day we played this game called "Skip-Bo". It was fun. I used to play that game when I was younger...always when we were on our camping trips. Every night of the trip we spent playing cards. Those were nice times because my Dad wasn't as busy with his work and actually got to spend some real time with us.

My other Dad and Mom called today to see how I was doing. I love to hear from them. Dad always has a few new jokes to tell.

My real Dad is having some computer problems and so he actually had time to spend with us and we played "Skip-Bo" - a short game but fun. Dad hardly ever spends time with us like that so it was nice.

Well that's about it for now. I am going back to bed. Thanks to everyone who sent e-mails, called and who left comments on the blog to send their love and prayers etc.

Trip to Bragg Creek

Today we took a trip with our good friend, Ron, to Bragg Creek. It was actually a really nice, sunny day and we had a really good time. As usual we took LOTS of pictures. I love to take pictures as does Ron. And we had three perfect subjects...Rocco, Lucky and Ron's puppy Sakima.

A busy Saturday

We decided to re-paint our bedroom. It is a green color but a weird shade of green and we figure that when we decide to sell the place it would be best to have a more neutral colour.
We both really like the way the "yellow room" turned out so we decided on yellow but a shade or two lighter and we're painting all the trim and doors white. It will be a relaxing room we hope after this is done.

Today we accomplished removing the dressers etc. from our bedroom, taking the trim off the walls and all the nails out of it which was no easy task...and washing the walls.

I am going to try and prime the room on Monday and put the first coat of yellow on on Tuesday and then of course I have the surgery on Wednesday so who knows when I'll be able to work on it again.

I took a pic of the room but the camera is upstairs and I don't really want to go and get it and upload the pic right now so I'll have to post it at a later date.

Also today we made some Dad's cookies and some peanut butter cookies.

Busy day but it always feels good to know that you accomplished something!

Anyway, it's 11 pm here and that means an hour past our bedtime so goodnight all.
